Michael Gansl and Chad Eaves Speak with Jonathan Sheppard, Workforce Expert and Generational Advocate
Listen to Chad and Mike and Jonathan Sheppard, President and CEO of J. Sheppard Associates, a legal recruiting firm, talk about the importance of understanding and embracing the “Generationality of Work Today,” which involves four generations working together.
Those generations include Baby Boomers (born 1946-1964); Gen Xers (Born 1965-1980); Millennial – Gen Y (Born 1981-1996); and Gen Z (Born 1997-2012).
Sheppard encourages law firms to avoid being “generationally judgmental” and instead focus on fostering collaboration and communication across age groups. He believes the key is finding ways to leverage the strengths of each generation while promoting understanding between different age cohorts in the legal workplace. Those firms that successfully manage generational diversity can gain a competitive advantage and secure brighter futures.
